Whether you’re celebrating with your children, remembering your mother, or simply honoring the journey of womanhood, I invite you to take a deep breath and savor this day.
As a coach, I often work with clients who reach out in a moment of realization, maybe a Friday morning, and they look up only to find that the entire week has slipped by in a blur. They’ve moved from task to task and checked off all the boxes, but they can’t quite remember what happened. Maybe that’s happened to you, too.
This morning, I decided to slow everything down.
I sat quietly on my living room sofa and wrapped my hands around a warm mug of coffee. The cup has a picture of a bulldog on it, a tribute to my beloved Winston, who passed away recently after eight wonderful years together. Most mornings, coffee is just another part of my routine. I drink it while answering emails, scrolling through my phone, or checking my schedule.
But today was different. Today, I felt the warmth of the cup. I let the aroma of the coffee fill the room. I looked at that little bulldog on the mug and let myself grieve. I let myself be.
Losing Winston has been heartbreaking, but even more sobering has been the realization that in just six weeks, I will turn 65. I have now lived longer than my parents and my brother. That fact sits with me in quiet, humbling ways. It reminds me to live with more presence. To remember the texture of a moment before it passes.
So today’s post is more than a journal entry. It’s a letter from your sister.
Take today and enjoy it. Enjoy your kids, your friends, your quiet moments alone, and being you.
Because you have loved deeply, Because you have survived pain and loss, Because you have grown through storms, Because you have earned every beautiful line and lesson that midlife brings.
Raise your coffee mug, tea cup, or glass of wine, and give yourself a round of applause. You are a beautiful, resilient, powerful woman. You did not get to this age without triumphs, courage, or grace.
If this post resonates with you, share it with someone you love. In the comments, let us know how you plan to celebrate today, even if you celebrate alone.
If you’re ready to begin again, to reinvent your life with purpose and peace, download my free guide, “Midlife Reboot Workbook.” It has self-exploration exercises, goal-setting tools, and wellness strategies to help you step boldly into your next life phase.
With Peace & Love, Renee

Hey friend, and welcome to Part Three of our Midlife Reset Challenge!
Today, we’re exploring one of midlife’s biggest challenges—and most significant opportunities—reclaiming your energy.
Let’s be honest. You’re not alone if you’ve ever felt like you hit a wall after 45. One minute you’re multitasking like a champ, and the next, you just want to collapse on the couch with a bag of chips and your favorite comfort show.
I’ve been there.
No one tells you that perimenopause and menopause can completely drain your energy, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally, too. I remember a season where I felt like a shell of myself. After work, all I had the strength to do was lie down, scroll my phone, and emotionally eat. It felt like survival. But in reality, it was slowly robbing me of the life I wanted to live.
What I didn’t realize back then is that my habits—though comforting in the moment—were making it harder for me to feel energized, connected, and alive. I wasn’t just tired. I was disconnected from joy.
That’s one of the reasons I wrote The Midlife Reset: 21 Days to Reignite Your Energy, Confidence & Joy. I never want you to wake up and realize a whole year has passed without doing the things you love—or becoming the woman you know you’re meant to be.
Let’s change that. Together.
🧡 Why You’re So Tired (And What You Can Do About It)
Hormonal shifts, chronic stress, sleep disturbances, nutrient deficiencies, and even unhealed emotional exhaustion are all culprits of that midlife burnout. Add in years of caregiving, career changes, grief, and transitions—and of course, you’re exhausted.
But you can take your energy back. No shame. No judgment. Just simple, powerful strategies you can start today.
🌞 3 Body-Boost Tips to Reclaim Your Energy Naturally
1. Start Your Day with Protein and Fiber
Put down the sugary cereal or plain toast. A protein- and fiber-rich breakfast is one of the best ways to stabilize your blood sugar, support hormone balance, and give your body what it needs to perform well—without the crash.
Try this:
Scrambled eggs with spinach and avocado on whole grain toast
A protein smoothie with flaxseeds, greens, and berries
Greek yogurt with chia seeds, nuts, and sliced pear
This combo keeps you fuller longer and fuels your mind and mood for the day ahead.
2. Get Natural Light Within the First Hour of Waking
Your circadian rhythm (your internal body clock) is deeply affected by light. Getting even 10–15 minutes of natural light first thing in the morning helps boost alertness, regulate your hormones, and improve your sleep at night.
Try this:
Step outside for your morning coffee
Take a short walk without sunglasses (if it’s safe to do so)
Open all your blinds and let the sun in while you stretch or pray
This one habit can shift your entire day.
3. Move Your Body with Intention—Not Intensity
You don’t need a high-impact workout. You just need to move gently and consistently. Movement boosts circulation, increases feel-good endorphins, and helps manage midlife weight, inflammation, and anxiety.
Try this:
20 minutes of walking after meals
A gentle yoga routine in the morning or before bed
10-minute stretch breaks during your workday
Focus on movement that supports—not depletes—you.
💡 You Don’t Need More Hustle—You Need More Intention
Your body is not broken. It’s asking for your attention. In this season, energy isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing the right things for your body, mind, and soul.
When you nourish yourself mindfully and consistently, you begin to shift. You feel it in how you wake up, engage with others, and show up for yourself.
And yes, it takes time. But every small choice adds up.

Listen to a new episode of the Midlife Made Easier Podcast: Part 2 – The Power of the Midlife Pivot: Rewrite Your Story”:
Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Midlife Made Easier blog!
If you’re just joining us, we’re in Part Two of the Midlife Reset Challenge, and today we’re diving into a topic that’s close to the heart for many of us: the midlife pivot.
Let’s be honest—midlife can sneak up on you. One day, you’re rolling through your routine, and the next, you’re hit with a feeling that something isn’t working anymore. That’s not a crisis. Your soul whispers, “It’s time for something new.”
This is your pivot moment.
A midlife pivot is when you finally recognize that the old way of doing life—the people-pleasing, overworking, putting yourself last—is no longer sustainable or satisfying. Instead of spiraling into fear, you choose to lean into change with curiosity, clarity, and courage.
💡 So, how do you pivot gracefully in midlife?
Here are 3 empowering ways to begin:
1. Tell Yourself the Truth Take a moment to ask yourself—what’s really not working anymore? Maybe it’s a draining job, a relationship that no longer nourishes you, or even outdated beliefs about what your life “should” look like. You can’t fix what you won’t face. Honesty is the foundation of your pivot.
Midlife wisdom begins with radical truth-telling to yourself.
2. Stop Asking for Permission You do not need approval to change. Let that sink in. So often we delay our growth, waiting for others to validate our decisions. Your life doesn’t need a permission slip—it requires a vision. Whether it’s returning to school, starting a business, or moving to a new city, give yourself full permission to begin again.
3. Define Success on Your Terms At this stage of life, success may no longer look like titles, bank accounts, or five-year plans. Maybe it’s downsizing to live more simply. Perhaps it’s leaving a career that no longer excites you. Or maybe it’s choosing to prioritize peace over pressure. You get to rewrite the rules.
Midlife isn’t the end of the road—it’s a powerfully aligned crossroads.
It’s your invitation to stop surviving and start thriving. This is the time to rewrite your story with intention, grace, and joy.
You are not too old. You are not too late. You are right on time for your next beautiful beginning.

Listen to the First Episode of the Midlife Made Easier Podcast: Day 1 – Midlife Reset: Why This Isn’t a Crisis—It’s Your Comeback
Hello, beautiful friend, and welcome!
I am thrilled you’re here for Day 1 of the Midlife Reset Challenge at Midlife Made Easier. Over the next 10 days, we will walk together about reclaiming your joy, reviving your confidence, and reigniting your energy.
If you’ve been feeling a little blah lately, maybe even invisible or stuck on autopilot, this is your invitation to pause, breathe, and remember that midlife isn’t the end of anything.
I was done with the “midlife crisis” narrative. Let’s face it—midlife does come with change. But instead of a crisis, I began to see it as a chance to reset, reimagine, and refocus on me for the first time in decades. That shift was powerful.
So many of you were asking, “What’s next?” After years of caregiving, career juggling, and putting others first, many of us feel disconnected from our purpose. This challenge is your space to ask big questions and craft new answers.
I wanted to offer something practical and doable. It’s not another overwhelming 300-page guide but a clear, heartfelt blueprint you can use starting now.
Midlife is not a time to shrink. It’s a time to expand, explore, grow, and rediscover what lights you up. And let’s be honest: midlife women are strong, resourceful, and wildly capable—but we are also among the most overlooked in wellness, healthcare, and media. That ends here.
What You Can Expect This Week
Each day, you’ll get a new blog post full of real talk, encouragement, and tools to help you feel more energized and empowered. Whether you’re entering your 40s, 50s, or 60s—this is your reset. Your space. Your comeback.

Can you believe it’s already April? Spring is finally here, with it comes fresh starts, new energy, and the perfect reminder to bloom where we’re planted.
This month, I’m focusing on something that has genuinely transformed my life: self-love. Not the fluffy, feel-good quotes kind (although those are nice too), but real, deep, life-shifting self-love.
Let’s dive into what it means to put you first, with grace, with intention, and without guilt.

💡 Mini Blog: Self-Love Sets the Tone for Every Relationship
Let’s be honest—self-love wasn’t something most of us were taught during our formative years. I was taught to be kind, polite, and giving… but rarely to turn that kindness inward.
But here’s the truth: how you love yourself teaches others how to love you.
When you prioritize your needs, speak kindly to yourself, and set healthy boundaries, your relationships shift. You attract respect, support, and connection because it all starts with how you show up for yourself.
Bright, colorful, and packed with nutrients, this quick dish is perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup broccoli florets
1 bell pepper, sliced
1 cup snap peas
1 zucchini, chopped
1/2 onion, sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos
Instructions:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
Add the remaining vegetables and stir-fry for 6–8 minutes.
Add the soy sauce and stir to coat. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
Serve with brown rice or quinoa for a complete meal. Enjoy!

Until next time, Take care of yourself and each other.
I have to admit, self-love was not something I was taught.
Growing up, I was taught to be kind to others, to share without an attitude, and to say “please” and “thank you.” But no one ever sat me down and explained the importance of loving myself, not in a way that made it feel like a priority, and definitely not in a way that showed me how loving myself could improve my life and relationships.
So let’s talk about that today.
Whether you’re just starting your self-love journey or simply need a reminder, here are three powerful reasons to love yourself more, starting right now.
1. Self-Love Sets the Tone for Every Relationship You Have
When you love yourself, you teach others how to love you too. You stop settling for crumbs of affection and start expecting the kind of treatment that matches your worth.
Think about it: if you’re constantly criticizing yourself, ignoring your needs, or putting everyone else first, what message does that send to the people around you?
Loving yourself creates healthier boundaries, better communication, and more fulfilling relationships—because they’re built on respect, not resentment.
2. Self-Love Reduces Stress and Increases Resilience
Let’s be honest—life can be overwhelming, especially in midlife. But self-love helps you show up for yourself when the world gets loud.
It looks like giving yourself permission to rest, asking for help when needed, and saying “no” without guilt. It’s choosing peace over perfection.
And the best part? When you care for yourself compassionately, your ability to bounce back from challenges increases. You stop just surviving and start thriving.
3. Self-Love Empowers You to Create the Life You Truly Want
When you love yourself, you believe you’re worthy of joy, health, abundance, and purpose.
That belief changes everything.
You stop waiting for permission to chase your dreams. You begin to make choices that align with your values, passions, and goals. You take up space—unapologetically.
And let me tell you, watching your life transform because you finally chose yourself is one of the most beautiful things you’ll ever experience.
So, how are you showing yourself love today?

A few years ago, I experienced a fall that taught me a valuable lesson—one that still resonates with me today. I was walking with a colleague to conduct a home visit when, suddenly and without warning, I fell hard on the pavement. Out of sheer embarrassment and adrenaline, I jumped right back up as if nothing happened. But in reality, the pain from that fall lingered for months, and to this day, I still experience occasional residual aches on the side where I landed.
As we move through midlife and beyond, the possibility of falling becomes more significant. It’s not something we like to think about, but it is something we should prepare for. Yes, there is a way to fall correctly—to minimize damage and reduce the risk of serious injury.
Today, I want to share three practical tips on how to fall safely, whether you’re walking outside or navigating your own home. Spring is just around the corner, and many of us are eager to hit the sidewalks, trails, and metro parks to achieve our daily walking goals. Let’s ensure we do it safely!
3 Tips for Falling Safely in Midlife
1. Stay Loose (Avoid Tensing Up) One of the worst things you can do when falling is to stiffen your body. Instinctively, we tense up, but this increases the risk of fractures or serious joint injuries. Instead, stay loose and bend your elbows and knees slightly as you fall. Allowing your muscles to remain flexible helps absorb impact and distribute the force across your body.
2. Protect Your Head Head injuries can be catastrophic, especially as we age. Always prioritize protecting your head during a fall. If you feel yourself going down, try to tuck your chin toward your chest and turn your body to the side. This simple movement reduces the risk of hitting your head directly, significantly minimizing potential trauma.
3. Try to Roll into the Fall Instead of trying to stop your fall with your hands—which can lead to broken wrists or shoulders—aim to roll into your fall, spreading the impact across larger muscle groups, such as your shoulders or hips. A controlled roll can significantly reduce injury severity and speed up your recovery.
Prevention Matters, Too
Beyond knowing how to fall, it’s equally important to prevent falls from happening in the first place. Ensure you’re wearing suitable footwear with a good grip, keep your home clear of clutter, and have your vision regularly checked.
Springtime means more outdoor activities, and I want you all to stay safe and healthy. Please share this post with someone you love, as knowing how to fall safely could protect them from serious injury.

Protein is one of the most essential nutrients for maintaining muscle, supporting metabolism, and keeping energy levels steady—especially for women in midlife. As we age, our bodies lose muscle mass, leading to slower metabolism, weight gain, and increased risk of falls or injury.
But how much protein do you need? And what happens if you get too much—or not enough? Let’s break it down.
What is Protein and What Does It Do?
Protein comprises amino acids, the building blocks for nearly every function in your body. It helps:
✅ Build and repair muscles ✅ Support a healthy immune system ✅ Maintain skin, hair, and nails ✅ Keep hormones balanced ✅ Promote a healthy metabolism
For midlife women, getting enough protein is key to maintaining strength, preventing muscle loss, and supporting overall health.
How Much Protein Do You Need in Midlife?
The general recommendation for protein intake is 0.8 grams per kilogram (or 0.36 grams per pound) of body weight per day. However, many experts suggest that midlife women need more—closer to 1.2 to 2.0 grams per kilogram (0.54 to 0.9 grams per pound) to support muscle maintenance and overall health.
For example:
A 150-pound (68 kg) woman may need 80–100 grams of protein daily for optimal health.
A 130-pound (59 kg) woman may aim for 70–90 grams daily.
Your exact needs depend on factors like activity level, muscle mass, and overall health goals.
What Happens If You Don’t Get Enough Protein?
If you’re not getting enough protein, you may experience: ⚠️ Muscle loss and weakness ⚠️ Slower metabolism and weight gain ⚠️ Brittle hair, nails, and dry skin ⚠️ Increased cravings and unstable blood sugar ⚠️ Poor recovery from workouts or injuries
Can You Have Too Much Protein?
While protein is essential, excessive intake can lead to: ⚠️ Digestive discomfort (bloating, constipation) ⚠️ Kidney strain (if you have pre-existing kidney conditions) ⚠️ Nutrient imbalances if protein replaces key carbs and healthy fats
The key is balance—enough protein to support your body, but not so much that it crowds out other essential nutrients.
Protein-Rich Foods for Midlife Women
Looking for protein-rich meal ideas? Here are some great options: 🥚 Eggs & Greek yogurt 🥩 Lean meats (chicken, turkey, fish) 🌱 Plant-based proteins (tofu, lentils, chickpeas) 🥜 Nuts, seeds, and nut butter 🧀 Cheese and cottage cheese

Forgiveness is a deeply personal journey that can feel even more complicated when the person who hurt you is no longer around. Whether they’ve passed away, moved on, or are simply out of reach, you may find yourself carrying unresolved pain, resentment, or unanswered questions.
But here’s the truth: Forgiveness isn’t about them. It’s about your peace, healing, and ability to move forward without the weight of the past holding you down.
In this post, we’ll explore what Forgiveness truly means, why it’s important, and how you can release the hurt even when reconciliation isn’t possible.
What Forgiveness Is (and What It Isn’t)
Before we dive into how to forgive, let’s clarify what Forgiveness is:
✅ Forgiveness is letting go of pain’s emotional grip on your heart and mind. ❌ Forgiveness is NOT excusing or justifying what happened. ✅ Forgiveness is choosing to heal, even if the other person never apologizes. ❌ Forgiveness is NOT reconciliation—sometimes, moving on separately is healthier.
Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting. It means remembering without reliving the pain.
Why Forgiveness Matters for Your Well-being
Holding onto anger and resentment doesn’t punish the other person—it punishes you. Studies have shown that holding grudges can lead to:
Increased stress and anxiety
Higher blood pressure
Poor sleep quality
Emotional exhaustion
Strained relationships with others
On the flip side, embracing Forgiveness has been linked to lower stress levels, better heart health, and even improved immune function. It’s not just an emotional act but a self—care act.
How to Forgive When They’re No Longer Around
1. Acknowledge the Pain
Ignoring your emotions won’t make them go away. Take time to recognize how you feel—anger, sadness, betrayal, or disappointment. Write about it, talk to a trusted friend, or seek therapy.
2. Release the Need for an Apology
Many people struggle with Forgiveness because they’re waiting for closure. But when the person is no longer available to give it, you must create closure for yourself.
Ask yourself: If I never get an apology, can I still choose peace?
You can. And you deserve to.
3. Express Your Feelings in a Letter (Even if You Never Send It)
Writing can be a powerful tool for healing. Consider writing a letter to the person who hurt you. Pour out everything you feel—the good, the bad, and the painful. Then, decide what to do with it. Some people keep it, some tear it up, and others burn it as a symbolic act of release.
4. Shift the Focus from Blame to Growth
Instead of what they did, focus on what you can learn from it. Ask yourself:
What did this experience teach me?
How can I grow from this?
What boundaries can I set moving forward?
Pain often leaves wisdom in its wake.
5. Engage in a Forgiveness Ritual
Consider a forgiveness ritual if you need a tangible way to release the hurt. Some ideas include:
Writing down the pain and physically letting it go (e.g., tearing up the paper, burying it, or tossing it into water).
Meditating and visualizing yourself, releasing the burden.
Saying a prayer or affirmation of release: “I choose peace over pain. I release this hurt and open myself to healing.”
6. Seek Professional Guidance If Needed
Some wounds run deep, and healing takes time. A therapist, counselor, or spiritual advisor can help you navigate complex emotions and provide tools for true emotional freedom.
How I’ve Walked My Forgiveness Journey
Forgiveness has been a personal journey for me, too. I’ve had to let go of hurts from people who never acknowledged the pain they caused—some of whom I’ll never see again.
For a long time, I believed that forgiving them meant they “got away with it.” But eventually, I realized I was the one still suffering while they had moved on.
I chose to forgive for me, not for them. And I can tell you from experience—that letting go brings a peace that holding on never will.
Your Healing Matters
Forgiving when the person who hurt you is no longer around is one of the hardest things to do—but also one of the most freeing. You don’t need their apology. You don’t need their validation.
You need yourself—whole, healed, and at peace.
If this post resonated with you, I’d love to hear from you in the comments. How have you dealt with Forgiveness? What’s helped you release the past? Let’s support each other on this journey.
And if you know someone who might need this message, please share it with them.
Until next time, take care of yourself and each other.

For 2025, my goal is simple: live on less than I make while still enjoying a fantastic life. I’m not giving up my mani-pedis, massages, or getting my hair done every two weeks—those are non-negotiables. But I’ve realized there are other areas where I can cut expenses without sacrificing joy.
Why I’m Doing This
Two big reasons:
I want to quit my full-time job by the end of the year to work on my business full-time.
I want to retire comfortably while traveling, having fun, and living on my own terms.
This journey has also opened my eyes to something deeper: my relationship with money. Even at 64, I’m learning that financial healing is possible. And if I can do it, so can you.
How I’m Cutting Costs (Without Sacrificing Joy)
1. Dining In More Often
I love eating out, but cooking at home saves so much money. I’m planning meals and experimenting with delicious, healthy meals that excite me to eat at home.
2. Reevaluating Subscriptions
I reexamined my streaming services, memberships, and apps. Do I need them all? Nope. I kept the ones I used and canceled the rest.
3. Smart Grocery Shopping
Buying in bulk, shopping sales, and using cashback apps are easy ways to save. And yes, I still buy good toilet paper—because some things in life are worth it.
4. Prioritizing Experiences Over Things
Instead of impulse shopping, I’m focusing on experiences that bring me joy—like road trips, spending time with loved ones, and investing in my personal growth.
5. Finding Creative Ways to Save
From using reward points to negotiating better service deals, I’m becoming more mindful of where my money goes.
This journey isn’t about deprivation—it’s about intentional spending. It’s about spending in ways that align with my values and long-term goals. If you want to live well while spending less, I hope this blog inspires you.
